Haka Workshop

We design team building, leadership and motivation experiences motivation based on the Haka, a millenary dance from the Maori ethnic group of New Zealand that traditionally used to prepare for war and to create a bond between groups. 

Our experiences are managed by New Zealanders, from a mix of Maori and Polynesian ancestry, who from their childhood Polynesian ancestry, who from childhood learned the importance of teamwork, self-reliance teamwork, self-confidence and respect through the Haka.

The main objective of our workshops is to have fun, to build self-confidence, to develop team spirit and to strengthen your team spirit and strengthen your team's performance towards achieving the objectives.

The key points

  • Work as a team to overcome challenges setting clear organizational goals and showing the importance of practical leadership.  Promote corporate identity.

Phase 1 - Introduction

  • We will demonstrate a complete version of the Haka, to surprise your team and capture their attention. A brief presentation of what the Haka represents.
  • Teach Maori traditions, such as the greeting and the Pukana (facial expressions), which will take them out of their comfort zone.

Phase2 - Teaching the Haka

  • Teach your team the important actions and words of the Haka, which will encourage your team to work together as one. Perform the learned actions and words all together.

Phase 3 - Create your haka story.

  • Depending on the size of the group or the requests of the group, we can stay as one team or divide the team into equal parts and create several Haka.
  • We create your own Haka by adding your own special actions. These actions will represent your team and the story you want to tell.

Phase 4 - Final Battle

  • Perform Haka(s). We will evaluate creativity (story and actions), teamwork and leadership.
