Sitges is Art. The Gothic Quarter, the galleries and museums, the gastronomy. Santiago Rusiñol (1861 - 1931) the post-impressionist painter and playwright, took up residence in Sitges during the summer and bought a house to expose his wrought irons, ceramics, glass pieces, pictures and organize Modernist Festivals. Today you can visit the Cau Ferrat Museum which also hosts paintings by Casas, Utrillo, Mas i Fondevila, Zuloaga, Picasso...
Tarragona was probably founded by the Phoenicians and in the 15th century the brothers Publius and Gnaeus Scipio converted it into a fortress against the Carthagenians. The Gothic Quarter is Tarragona is well preserved, with the The Roman amphitheatre from the 2nd century AD, next to the sea, and, north of the city, the Roman aqueduct, El Pont del Diable (Devil's Bridge) has been preserved.
